One of The Community LAN’s main goals is to organise successful tournaments for a big audience of teams. Our main tournament will be the largest, have the biggest and most prizes and get as much media attention and match coverage as possible. The LAN is mainly about this tournament and it will definitely get the most promotion. Although our focus will be on our main tournament, we also want to provide lower skilled teams with a reason to attend our LAN: a chance to win. Therefor we will organise one or two smaller tournaments with reasonable prizes for the teams with a less high level of play.
On this page we will briefly discuss the key elements of these three tournaments.
Tournament rules
All our tournaments will be played by the latest rules and map pool following community standards. Our dedicated and experienced organisational team will keep these rules up to date and inform you about any major changes that are being made. The map pool and rules will be published as soon as possible.
Gold tournament
Every team that attends our event will automatically participate in this tournament, making it the largest tournament of all three. Being our main tournament, this tournament will definitely get the biggest amount of coverage and media interest. All top teams will be playing in this tournament, mainly because of it’s full cash prize pot, with a guaranteed 1500 Euros in the prize pot.
- Largest number of participating teams
- Media coverage before and during the event
- Full cash prize pot
- Guaranteed 1500 Euros
Silver tournament
The focus of our second largest tournament lies on the teams from the sub-top. These are teams that take Team Fortress 2 very serious and are dedicated, but have not yet reached the level of the top teams. To give these teams a good reason to attend our LAN, we will host this tournament. The prizes of this tournament will exist of great hardware prizes of high quality. The most interesting matches of this tournament will also get a reasonable amount of media coverage.
- Teams from sup-top (division 2 and 3)
- Media coverage of final matches
- Grand hardware prizes (headsets, graphics cards, etc)
- No top teams allowed
Bronze tournament*
If the amount of lower skilled attending teams rises explosively, we will also host a third tournament with a focus on these teams. The prizes will be smaller, but because all higher skilled teams are not allowed to enter the competition their will be some spectacular and tight matches for sure.
- Teams from lower ranks
- Small hardware prizes (mice, mouse mats, etc)
* The Bronze tournament is dependant upon sponsors and interest. If we get sixteen teams with a few D3 and lower attendees, and some decent sponsors willing to provide hardware prizes, the tournament will definitely go ahead.
